MWFA Community Coach Development Manager Chris Adamsis confident his local Select Squad will test Manly United’s 18s when they square off on Monday night at Cromer Park.
On paper, United’s stars of tomorrow should win easily – they train three times a week, are better conditioned and currently only sit behind Sydney FC on their Sydney wide competition table after 15 rounds.
Despite the confronting statistics, Adams isn’t worried.
“Our local boys will definitely give a good account of themselves,” he said.
“They all know it is a great opportunity to show what they can do against quality players.
“We have trained a handful of times and also had a trial game, so they are ready to go.”
Captain and Pittwater RSL FC centre back Aiden Currie is one to watch, as is Narrabeen’s Liam Thomas-Farr.
The MWFA Select 18s Squad are coached by Paul Daly (Seaforth) with Bill Keir (Forest Killarney) his assistant.
Kick-off is 7.15pm.
