David Wilson
David has been involved in the football landscape on the Northern Beaches since 1977, the year he arrived in the area. He has served with different clubs in various capacities, including playing, coaching and Committee roles, for nearly 50 years. Notably, he coached at Manly Warringah Dolphins / Manly United for a decade. He was elected to the MWFA Disciplinary Committee in 2008, and since then has held various roles within the Association.
When MWFA became an incorporated company in 2020, David was elected as Chairman of the Board. In the same year, he was also an appointed Director of Manly United Football Club. Both of these roles he still holds today.
Treasurer/Director
Joseph Sorbara

Joseph’s involvement in the local football community stretches back almost 50 years. He was awarded Life Membership of Wakehurst in 2006 for his services, which include being Secretary, Treasurer, coach and team manager.
He joined MWFA in 2016 as Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee, ensuring it had appropriate financial processes during a period of rapid expansion, a process which also greatly helped MWFA during COVID-affected years. Joseph has been an MWFA Director since 2020. Professionally, Joseph is a Chartered Accountant with extensive corporate experience in senior finance and commercial roles.
Directors
Fiona Dunn
Fiona joined the MWFA Board in December 2024. She brings over 30 years’ corporate experience in the financial services sector, having held a number of executive general management and senior leadership positions spanning business strategy, product, sales / marketing, and risk / governance. She has significant board expertise, having served on a number of boards and board committees over the past 12 years for both unlisted and ASX listed companies. She is currently the Chair of JANA Investment Advisers.
Fiona has had a long involvement with football on the Northern Beaches as a parent and volunteer, and is currently on the board of Manly United Football Club.
Mark Femia

Elected to the Board in November 2024, Mark brings more than 35 years of experience in football, combined with a strong background in corporate leadership, and a dedication to the ongoing success of the Association.
A local junior and lifelong supporter of the game, Mark has represented various clubs in the association as a player, including Warringah Dolphins, and has gone on to coach in junior football, as well as Men’s & Women’s Premier League. Professionally, Mark provides strategic guidance as the Director of an insurance advisory firm. Prior to this, he held senior management roles within the financial services sector.
Rhonda Ferguson
Rhonda joined the MWFA board in 2020. Previously, she was on the MWFA’s Management Committee as women’s vice president from 2003-2015. For her services to local football, Rhonda was awarded MWFA Life Membership in 2015.
Her involvement in Northern Beaches football stretches all the way back to her time as a local junior. Rhonda progressed to playing for both Manly Warringah and New South Wales, and she also coached Manly Warringah women’s teams.
Professionally, Rhonda is Australia & New Zealand head of retail for a medical device company and has over 20 years experience in the financial services sector. Rhonda is also a director of Manly Warringah District Soccer Football Club.
Mark Gale

Mark has been involved in local football since moving to the Northern Beaches in 1981, serving as a player and coach at various clubs for over 40 years. His coaching experience includes stints in both NPL and local competitions. In 2025, Mark coached the MWFA Men’s Select Team to victories against Northern Suburbs FA and Manly United.
He has been a member of the Judiciary Committee for the past four years, helping to ensure that MWFA games are safe and enjoyable, and that participants adhere to all rules. Mark was elected to the Board in 2024 and will work towards the continued success and growth of football in the area.
Eduardo Fichmann
Eddie’s involvement in Northern Beaches football dates back to 2014, when he began volunteering as an assistant coach and youth team referee at Curl Curl and Manly Vale. In 2017, he progressed to playing with the Curl Curl O35s, most recently winning the O35-4 Grand Final in the 2025 season.
Professionally, Eddie has more than 25 years of experience in the corporate sector, having held senior strategy roles at oOh!media, NBN and Optus. Beyond football, he has volunteered on the boards of an aged-care business and a local baseball club. He is a certified company director (AICD) and a CPA with CPA Australia and holds an MBA and a BSc (Hons) in Economics.
