Firstly, MWFA would like to thank you for putting your hand up to be a coach this season. Every team needs one, and the players and parents will surely appreciate your time and efforts.
Below is some basic information on all of the different courses, workshops and coach support that MWFA offers.
MINIROOS COACHING COURSES
Who: new coaches of any age group
Cost: free
Duration: 2-3 hours
Dates: 10-12 will be available across the season at various locations and on different nights between March and July
SKILL TRAINING / GAME TRAINING COACHING COURSES
Note: these will probably be restructured and rebranded as ‘Foundation of Football’ for 2024
Who: U8 to U13 coaches and U14 to seniors respectively
Cost: will likely be $90-$100
Duration: 7 hours across 2 nights plus probably 2 hours of online learning
Dates: 3-5 will be available across the season at various locations and on different nights between March and July
C-LICENCE COACHING COURSE
Who: coaches who have done a Skill Training or Game Training previously and want to progress to the next level (not a beginner course regardless of playing experience)
Cost: $1,050
Duration: 5 full days at least, plus lots of online learning (100% attendance and completion required to pass)
Dates: Sundays in February and March at Cromer Park, exact dates TBC, and then again hopefully in late 2024
COACH WORKSHOPS
Note: these are unofficial, and cover specific topics more in depth
Who: any coach
Cost: free
Duration: 2 hours
Dates: 15-20 will be available across the season at various locations and on different nights between March and July
GAME LEADER WORKSHOPS
Who: parents or even older siblings of MiniRoos who are willing to help out in this role on match day, or who might be willing to if armed with a bit of knowledge and guidance on what being a Game Leader involves
Cost: free
Duration: 1 hour
Dates: 5-6 will be available just before and just after the start of the season at various locations and on different nights
COACH MENTORING
Note: support at training sessions and matches is provided during the season, which coaches can book through our website during that period
