BROOKVALE’S under-16/1s are the State Cup champions following a clinical 2-0 win over Sylvania Heights SC last Sunday at Valentine Sports Park. Anthony Seminara’s squad had John Stambolieff and Sam Dutaillus to thank after both found the back of the net. Seminara labelled Sunday morning’s win at Valentine Sports Park ‘‘methodical.’’
‘‘They (Sylvania) were a big side so I told the boys to be smart and not play it in the air,’’ he said. ‘‘Once we got the second goal I felt we were comfortable, I kept telling the boys to hold the ball. ‘‘We have worked hard all year and deserved to win.’’ The Blues are now focused on their league meeting with Pittwater RSL FC A this weekend at Graham Reserve. Pitts are the only team to lower Brookvale’s colours this season, following a 2-1 win at Kitchener on May 22. The winner is likely to represent the MWFA in the Champions of Champions later this year. |
