mosman WPL

THE title race in the women’s MWFA Premier League is wide open thanks to Mosman’s resounding 5-0 win over Beacon Hill on Sunday.

Jemma Griffin, Tash Castleton, Hannah Grimble, Sophie Gidley and Fran Dalton all were on target for the Whales in the upset of the 2019 season.

“Everything finally clicked for us,” jubilant Mosman coach Steve Neilan said.

“We aimed to finish the season with a bang and did so…we have shown everyone else what we can do.”

With Manly Vale losing 5-1 to Wakehurst on home soil, the title is likely to be decided this Sunday at David Thomas Reserve when Vale host Vince Vescio’s Beacon Hill.

Elsewhere, Forest Killarney outclassed Brookvale 5-1 and Manly Allambie beat Seaforth 2-0.

After 13 rounds, Beacon Hill are the yardstick on 27 points ahead of Manly Vale (26).

Wakehurst and Manly Allambie (both 25) are poised to strike in what will be a fascinating final round of action this weekend.
