Manly United will be using the match against Steve Coricas Sky Blues as crucial preparation for its Rnd of 16 FFA Cup clash.

After a small break to freshen up the squad after Sundays final NPL match of the season, Manly United coach is excited about the clash with Sydney FC to not only assist with preparations for the FFA Cup but also give his players the opportunity to test themselves against one of the best sides in Australian football.

The friendly against Sydney FC is a great preparation for us, Dee said. From a football point of view it will be nice to give the players a small break after Sunday and then come back in to prepare for the friendly against Sydney FC to be ready for the FFA Cup clash.

For the club, its also another wonderful opportunity and we thank Steve Corica, Danny Townsend and the people at Sydney FC for helping to make the match happen so quickly.

It is also a nice opportunity for both the established players and the youngsters who have made a breakthrough to test themselves against Sydney FC.

The Manly United v Brisbane Strikers FFA Cup clash, which is the biggest match in the clubs history, will take place at Perry Park in Brisbane on Wednesday 28 August. Kick off is 7.30pm.
