State Cup quarter-final preview

THE future of Pittwater RSL FC will be on full display this Sunday when three junior girls’ squads push for semi-final spots in the State Cup.

Pittwater’s 12s girls take on Lilli Pilli, the 14s do battle with Sylvania Heights and the 16s play Lindfield.

“It certainly is a good sign for the next few years,” proud club president Annette Burgoyne said this week.

“The key to success across all three grades is familiarity, the combinations (on the pitch) are there for everyone to see.

“In the under-12s for instance, most of the girls also play together for Mona Vale Public School in the PSSA competition, they are very talented and love the game.”

Forest Killarney also have three junior teams in action this weekend – the 13 boys (v Enfield), 16 boys (v Camden) and 18 men (v Sans Souci).

In a real positive for the MWFA, a total of 13 teams will strive for semi-final starts in a host of age divisions.

Manly Vale will look to maintain their unbeaten status in the All Age Women’s when they take on Albion Park.

No MWFA Premier League women’s games have been scheduled for this Sunday.
