State Cup round one preview (women's MWFA Premier League)

FOR a couple of teams in the women’s MWFA Premier League, attention has already turned to the State Cup this Sunday at Cromer Park.

Beacon Hill play Maroubra United and Wakehurst tackle The Flying Bats from the North West Sydney region in round one action.

Tigers coach Donna Stuart admitted not knowing much about her opposition adds to the occasion.

“I’m sure they (Flying Bats) will be competitive, after all, it is a Cup game,” she said.

“We are gradually finding our feet as a team, which is good to see.”

Brookvale, Seaforth, Manly Vale and Forest Killarney all have first round byes.

“I’m happy we have a game instead of a rest, it gives us the chance to build momentum,” Stuart added.

“The girls are all pumped.”
