BROOKVALE produced a miracle escape on Wednesday night, fighting back from two goals down to beat CC Strikers 3-2 in the final of the MWFA Challenge Cup.
Ryan Butcher’s men looked on course to finally win some silverware for the club, but the Blues had other ideas.
Josh Ciabatti (2) and Johnny Hall scored after the break to stun CC Strikers in freezing conditions at Cromer Park.
Brookvale skipper Josh Lawson hailed the fighting nature of his team.
“Even at 2-0 down at halftime, we felt we could go on and win it, we butchered a few chances in the first half,” he said.
“We had to dig deep, and showed plenty of character.
“It was a game of defensive errors from both teams – in the end we took our chances and got the job done.”
