MWFA Premier League round nine review

PL 1ST

NARRABEEN have eased their relegation fears after a thrilling 4-3 win over Dee Why on Saturday.

Sipan Berti found the back of the net twice in the first half, and when the home side were awarded a penalty, up stepped Adam Foti.

The veteran striker saw his spot-kick saved, but teammates Zach Trewartha and Daniel Reisinger came to the rescue, with their goals securing a much needed victory at Narrabeen Sports High School.

It was a big result for the Beanies, who are now seven points clear of winless Manly Vale.

“We rode our luck at times, when Dee Why scored with 20 minutes left to make it 4-3, I didn’t know what to think,” Narrabeen coach Ross Talarico said.

“It was huge for morale, we needed that win to give us a bit of breathing space.

“The challenge now is to go on a run and pick up as many points as we can.”

Elsewhere, Pittwater RSL FC impressed in a 3-0 victory against CC Strikers, goal hungry Wakehurst were at it again, trouncing St Augustine’s 7-0, Brookvale did just enough to beat Manly Vale 2-1 and Mosman outclassed Seaforth 3-1.
