MANLY Vale aren’t doomed – yet.

On Saturday at David Thomas Reserve they finally chalked up their first points of 2018 following a 1-0 triumph over St Augustine’s.

Evergreen defender Steve Black headed home with 75 minutes played, and despite some late chances, Saints failed to equalise.

“It was nice to sing the team song, it has been a while,” Vale goalkeeper Rowan St Clair said.

“We still believe we can stay up – everyone is working as hard as they can.

“If we can get a result at Dee Why this weekend, our confidence will continue to grow.”

Elsewhere, the top of the table clash between Pittwater RSL FC and Mosman finished 2-2, a Sheldon Tweedie brace saw Wakehurst beat CC Strikers 2-1, Narrabeen and Seaforth shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, as did Brookvale and Dee Why.
