MWFA Premier League round nine preview

Strikers 050518

CC Strikers will be hoping for a sense of deja vu when they host league leaders Pittwater RSL FC at St Matthews Farm this Saturday.

Ryan Butcher’s men beat the Greens 1-0 in Monday’s MWFA Challenge Cup semi-final, with Alex Woolley supplying the winner.

Two victories over Pitts in the space of six days would be some feat.

“I thought we defended well on Monday, we limited Pittwater’s goal scoring opportunities,” Butcher said.

“They certainly had the lions share of possession, but anytime you come away with a win against a quality side like Pitts..it does wonders for your confidence.

“We (CC Strikers)used to be all about style and no grit, but we are trying to change that.”

Elsewhere, St Augustine’s tackle Wakehurst at Cromer Park on Friday night from 7.30pm.

Saturday afternoon sees Narrabeen host Dee Why, Manly Vale do battle with Brookvale and Mosman entertain Seaforth.
