WAKEHURST sent out an emphatic message to the rest of the competition on Saturday, outclassing Manly Vale 9-0 at Lionel Watts.

The Tigers have been inconsistent so far in 2018, but at home they were ‘on’ from the kick-off.

Sheldon Tweedie (3), Michael Ball (2), Jeremy Ord (1), Russell Webster (1), John Bushnell (1) and Dan Stuart (1) scored the goals, and coach Paul Juergens believes the Tigers can scale even bigger heights.

“It shows what can happen when we click,” he said.

“Pre game I told the boys to show their character and commitment.

“We focused on the basics, keeping the ball and playing to feet.

“I was happy to see so many different goal scorers and we were ruthless, we kept playing even though it was 5-0 at halftime.”

The remarkable result sees Wakehurst now in sixth spot on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Brookvale beat Narrabeen 2-0, Mosman stunned Dee Why 4-0, Seaforth upset CC Strikers 1-0 and Pittwater RSL FC did just enough to get the better of St Augustine’s 3-2.
