AVALON are joint bottom of the leagu eheading into Sunday’s tussle with Manly Allambie at Millers Reserve- but their coach Larry Bates isn’t the least bit concerned.

The Reds have been beaten by Beacon Hill (2-1)and Brookvale (2-0) across the first fortnight of the competition.

It is a scenario not many predicted, especially after their run to grand final gloryafter finishing fourth on the ladderin 2017.

“It depends how you look at it, my view is the past couple of weeks I have given some of our younger players Premier League experience, which hopefully is invaluable,”Bates said.

“Injuries are part of the game and at this level people tend togo away on holidays and things like that.

“I’m sure we will turn it all around, there is certainly no need for panic.”

Manly Allambie have impressed early on, chalking up drawsagainst Manly Vale (1-1)and Wakehurst (0-0).

Other games see Seaforth tackle the Tigers, Forest Killarney host Beacon Hill and old foes Brookvale and Manly Vale square off at Graham Reserve.
