LAST season they shocked everyone except themselves after winning the final.

So surely AL/1s champions Curl Curl would be confident heading into their round one clash this Sunday versus Dee Why ?

Not on your life – Anthony Seminara’s squad are adopting a cautious approach, accepting the underdogs tag with gusto.

“It will be a good test to see where we are at,” Curl Curl club captain Paul Nero said.

“Dee Why are a very good side, you don’t make grand finals in the (MWFA) Premier League like they did last yearby chance.

“We were fortunate to retain who we wanted from last season, I’m sure we will be competitive on Sunday.”

Kick-off on Cromer 5 at 2pm.

Other round oneg ames see Narrabeen take on Manly Allambie (10am), Avalon tackle Beacon Hill (10am), St Augustine’s do battle with Brookvale (10am), Manly Vale lock horns with CC Strikers (12pm), Mosman line up against Wakehurst (12pm), Harbord Seasiders United play Seaforth (12pm) and Pittwater RSL FC entertain BTH Raiders (2pm).
