WAKEHURST ensured the women’s title race in the MWFA Premier League won’t be decided until the final round after beating Manly Vale 2-0 on Sunday at David Thomas Reserve.

Tigers defender Gemma O’Toole described the 90 minutes as ‘hard fought’.

“It was a tough game, we did well to win it,” she said.

“We haven’t dropped points for a while now, so it was good to keep that run going.

“Amanda (Baddock) got us going with a nice goal, and then we held them out.

“It was a real confidence booster ahead of the semis.”

Beacon Hill, who thrashed Brookvale 7-1, can win the title this weekend.

They are just two points behind Tony Bruzzano’s and Roland Winter’s Manly Vale.

Other games saw Seaforth outclass HSU 4-0 and Avalon secured fourth spot after dusting Forest Killarney 6-0.
