Tight game for Wakehurst and Beacon – WPL

ON THE back of a 12 game unbeaten run, you would think Wakehurst would be brimming with confidence ahead of their game versus Beacon Hill on Sunday at Melwood Oval.

Tigers coach Donna Stuart was having none of it.

She refused to label her team favourites, pointing to Beacon Hill’s attacking threats.

“Ayse (Adalis) and Jess (Wootton) offer plenty of firepower up front,” Stuart said.

“I think it will be a tight game, we just have to keep playing the way we have.

“Two of our more experienced girls, Gemma (O’Toole) and Anna (Nakao), have really been driving the girls to keep improving each week.

“I’d love to see us go through to the grand final, hopefully we can take our chances.”

League champions Manly Vale take on Avalon in the other semi-final.

Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
