STATE Cup update

FOREST Killarney will be well represented in Sunday’s third round of the State Cup, fielding five teams across various age groups.

The 12 boys take on Kemps Creek, the 13 boys tackle Cronulla Seagulls, the 14 boys lock horns with Auburn District, the 18s boys do battle with Tarrawanna SC and the All Age Women line up against Macquarie University.

Club president Scott Larsen is confident all five squads can progress to the next round.

“I’m very excited about our juniors going forward,” he said.

“We are fortunate to have great facilities at Melwood Oval, that has attracted a high standard of players.

“From the under-8s onwards we focus on repetition of core skills, similar to the SAP program you see at Manly United.

“Our coaches are great, we are all working towards a unified goal – to make Forest Killarney the strongest football club possible.”

In other games, Pittwater RSL FC are tipped to easily beat Birrong Sports in the All Age Men’s and Mosman should have too much class for Lilli Pilli in the over-35s mens age group.

The MWFA has four clubs in the under 15 boys division – Wakehurst, CC Strikers, St Augustine’s and Manly Vale.

Games are being played at Cromer Park and all across NSW.
