Pittwater FC Coach Education Workshop a huge success

On Monday 22nd May MWFA Community Coach Development Manager Chris Adams travelled to Kitchener Park to run a SAP coach education workshop for the Pittwater coaches. The evening had 16 of the clubs coaches from the U8-U13 age groups in attendance who were run through how to structure and develop a fun, safe and engaging session for their players focused on the SAP core skill of striking the ball.

Pittwater Coaching Director and CCC Michael OKeefe spoke highly of the workshop and encouraged other clubs to get on board with these workshops. “The Session was extremely well facilitated and the Coaches I spoke with were impressed, and I think had their eyes opened a little to the need for a session to have progression whilst relevant to the core skill and additionally keep up a consistent pace, ensuring to players remain engaged.”

Community coach development is at the forefront of the MWFAs future plans and Chris Adams had nothing but praise for Pittwater FC for embracing these workshops for me as Coach Development Manager, “It was a pleasure to head to Kitchener Park and work with these coaches who wanted to learn and develop, community coaches dont necessarily always want to attend a formal coaching course or may not have the time to do so, so these workshops are a great way for them to still access some learning in their own club surroundings and in a quick 90 minute process.”

Several workshops are now booked in across the MWFA clubs however if your club is interested in running a workshop please contact Chris at christopher.adams@mwfa.com.auor 0416 168 206
