Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA) is looking for a Chief Executive Officer to work with its various stakeholders for the advancement of the game on Sydneys Northern Beaches.

To be considered for this role you will need to be a dynamic and collaborative leader, with a successful track record in managing like-sized businesses, significant projects, budgets and resources, delivering against strategic objectives and driving business development.

About Manly Warringah Football Association.

Manly Warringah Football Association is the governing body for football (soccer) on Sydneys Northern Beaches and Mosman regions and is within the family of Football Federation Australia and Football NSW. The MWFA currently consists of 17 Member Clubs and over 18,000 players and it administers football competitions in winter and summer, for males and females of all ages.

As well as community football, the MWFA provides an elite player pathway for all players through the Manly United Football Club (MUFC). The MUFC provides a number of crucial community based programs and enters teams annually in:

PS4 National Premier League NSW Mens 1 and Womens 1 competitions

PS4 National Premier League NSW Youth League

Boys and Girls – Skills Acquisition Programs

The Chief Executive Officer.

The CEO will be fundamentally involved in the next stage of the growth and evolution of the MWFA and the MUFC. The MWFA/MUFC is currently developing a Whole of Football strategy to align and join all of the Football entities on the Northern Beaches. The CEO will assist in the development and delivery of the plan in conjunction with the MWFA Executive Committee (EC) and MUFC Board.

The successful candidate will be expected to be across all aspects of the business operations; while adding value to the strategic direction of all related footballing entities.

To be considered for this position you will be an experienced administrator, ideally with experience in sports administration with a strong understanding of community and semi-professional level sport and its place within the broader society. You will have strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to forge effective working relationships at all levels.

The MWFA and MUFC rely on its volunteers to provide some key administrative functions within the two organisations. You will have a demonstrated ability to work with such volunteer administrators.

The MWFA and MUFC are seeking to ensure that it is correctly positioned to meet the demands of a changing society so you must have a can do attitude and be prepared to foster and drive innovation. You will take personal responsibility for the achievement of organisational tasks and strategies within budget.

The operational budget of the MWFA and MUFC is in excess of $3.5 Million and experience in managing a similar sized organisation, possibly within sports or the not for profit sector, would be highly regarded. Experience in maintaining and building commercial relationships with sponsors and suppliers will be an advantage as will experience in working with local government and associated infrastructure projects.

An attractive salary package will be offered to the successful candidate.
