CURL Curl Youth Club will host a fundraiser at Abbott Rd this Saturday afternoon to raise money for the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia.
It is a cause the club is passionate about, after one of the senior players wives was diagnosed with the disease.
“As a club, when we heard about this, we immediately felt this was a cause we wanted to be involved with,” CCYC vice president Wayne Terry said.
“We will be holding a fundraising sausage sizzle from around 12:30 pm onwards with all profits to be donated to the BCIA.
“The aim is to turn this into an annual community family day with everyone welcome.”
The club’s leading AL/1s men’s team, who are playing Pittwater B on field four, will don a special pink strip to mark the occasion.
Curly coach Anthony Seminara was happy to support such a worthwhile cause.
“We are a community club, and this is an issue which affects so many people from all walks of life,” he said.
“Hopefully we have a big crowd turn out to cheer the boys on.”
On field five, Curly’s AL/2s take on Mosman from 1pm.
