MWFA profile: Adam Bosward

Bosward

ADAM Bosward had nothing to prove to anyone.

In his three seasons with Pittwater RSL FC in the MWFA Premier League from 2012-14, he won countless trophies.

Scored plenty of goals as well.

But in the end, Bosward’s burning desire to prove to himself he still has what it takes lured the striker back to Kitchener.

“Last year I played with some old mates with Pennant Hills in the over-35s, it was good fun,” Bosward said.

“I decided to come back to Pitts as I managed to convince my boss to let me work from home, I don’t miss the daily commute to Parramatta from the beaches.

“With Stef (Teghini) retiring and Charlie (Fyfe) overseas, I figured a few spots would be there for the taking.

“It’s funny, I don’t see many people in the day, so I see training as a chance to interact a couple of nights a week.”

After scoring in Pitts’ 6-0 rout of Mosman in their season opener, it looked like business as usual for the 36-year-old striker.

Injuring his rib saw Bosward quickly change his tune.

“It certainly didn’t tickle, so as you can imagine I am happy to be back,” he said.

“We are getting more blokes available now, and playing with Baldy (Scott Balderson) has been great.

“He is such a class player and he takes the pressure off me to score in every game.”

Bosward feels Narrabeen should be title favourites.

“They won it last year, and with Justin Hayward up top, they are always a danger,” he said.

“It is a very open competition these days, you see Manly Vale beat us and Narrabeen but then lose to Brookvale.

“We are focused on what we are doing, and we will only get better.”
